ABOUT CTR
It was autumn 2007. With a handful of hard working, talented artists, a little bookshelf space and a simple DIY philosophy, Chestnut Tree Records was conceived. CTR exists with a singular mission; to secure for our artists the recognition and compensation they so richly deserve. It is just a theory, but we think protecting our artists’ freedoms while paying them their due will keep that sweet music flowing.
We are a non-profit collective. CTR is run by artists, for artists. You, our dear listeners, can rest assured that when you purchase the music offered here, the only people that stand to profit, are the artists. You can also enjoy the sense of pride and participation that will accompany your purchase. When you support the music on CTR, you become a true, and very necessary part of the music making process of CTR. You are our benefactors, and it is our great pleasure to make this music for you.
As a means toward showing you our appreciation, the larger fraction of the CTR catalog is available, free of charge, for listening. So have a look around, listen to some music, and show our artists your true appreciation by buying some of their music. Participate in the making of great, independent music!

This means that when you send a demo, we ask the post office to get out their “REJECTED” stamp. When you send us an email with mp3s or links to your music, we hit “DELETE.” This is depressing for all of us, so we recommend finding somewhere else to send your masterpiece. Thank you. |
